D918, COL DU TOURMALET

There is no denying that Tourmalet is one of the most beautiful places to visit if you find yourself in France, but the important thing that you need to know here is that the D918, Col Du Tourmalet is one of the best roads you can actually visit. It is a mountain region that is always surrounded by light fog, but going there on the bike is one of the best experiences, because you get one of a kind experience that does not happen that often.

ALPS, D902, COL DE VARS

When it comes to the altitude, the Col de Vars does not qualify as the highest areas, however, the good thing is that going there on a bike is actually a lot more fun than you can actually imagine. In case you are not sure, nothing feels better than a bike ride through French alps on a bike. I have been there a few times, and it is a rewarding experience every single time.

ROUTE DES CRÊTES - LA BRESSE

If you are looking for a place where you can take a walk, sightsee on a bike, or just have a pleasant drive, then there is nothing better than Route des Crêtes. Suitable for all sorts of people, it certainly happens to be one of my favourite roads in France that is brimming with nature, and personality. You are going to love it.

D978/678 - PARC DES VOLCANS

Last but not the least, I am going to talk about the gorgeous D978 - Parc des Volcans. For anyone who loves a wide variety of winding roads – this is for you; the reason I am talking about variety here is because you get wide, open fields, you get the forests, as well as rocky portions; all interconnected with one and the other in one way or another. It truly is a great experience that everyone should visit at least once.

The Best Apps For Motorcycle Riders

If you happen to be an ardent motorcyclist, then it is safe to say that you take your bike anywhere you want to. This is perhaps one of the most common things that a motorcyclist would do, and believe it or not, it actually is a lot of fun if done right, and with all the right things with you. It is safe to say that every motorcyclist is aware of the fact that his or her bike is not the only companion that is going to lead him to having a great time. As a matter of fact, there are a lot of determinants that play a part, and one should always keep that in mind.

With that in mind, this article basically talks about some of the best apps for motorcycle riders. These apps will help them in various things and they can actually have a better time with their bikes as well. The apps can be downloaded right on their mobile phones, and overall experience is a lot better than what you might believe in the first place. Let’s have a look at them, shall we?

EAT SLEEP RIDE

While it certainly has the type of name you would find on some cheeky t-shirts, the EAT SLEEP RIDE app is actually great because it is made with motorcyclists in mind. The app provides you with a lot of impressive features, with the most impressive being the ability to track your rides, as well as share them with people you want to. In addition to that, you can record other determinants such as speed, mileage, as well as lean angle. The app even allows you to discover routes you have never been on before.

You can share photos, and opt in live tracking as well if you are looking for that sort of features.

POLARSTEPS

When you are riding your bike, and going on the tour, you don’t really have the time to track down all the memorable events, and note them based on the time. This means that you might skip on a lot of memorable moments on your trip. However, the good thing is that if you can plan the trip, enter the route, and the app will make checkpoints for you. Once you reach those checkpoints, you will get notified, and you can add photos, as well as notes that will make your journey memorable, to say the least.

AUTOIST DIARY

If you are an ardent motorcyclist, then it is really important for you to make sure that you take good care of your bike. After all, without the bike in proper condition, you would not have been able to reach all those milestones that you have. The AUTOIST DIARY is actually a maintenance app that records all the necessary information about your bike, and store it. This is for people who want to make sure that they have all the information on their bike before they go ahead and a new journey.

Kawasaki Versys-X 300 – The Best ADV Bike?

There is no denying that when it comes to bikes, Kawasaki is known as one of the bike manufacturers in the market. Although many people thought that the company would suffer, and will ultimately disappear into nothingness, however, they have proven time and again that they are here to survive, and make some really amazing bikes.

Today, I am looking at the really promising Kawasaki Versys-X 300; a modern take on the classic small bore ADV bike. For those who do not know, ADV bikes are basically adventure bikes that are made for people who love to take their bikes for long rides, and even go on the adventures. They are not dirt bikes by any means, but you can take on them rocky terrains without causing any issues, or having the risk of damaging the bikes. With that said, when it comes to ADV bikes, the biggest trade off is that you lose some amount of comfort, and gain a lot of performance. However, after the initial experience with the Kawasaki Versys-X 300; it feels like the opposite is happening here.

Things I Really Liked

As with every bike available in the market, there are things that you are going to like, and some things that you are not going to like. I was really excited when I got the chance to test out Kawasaki Versys-X 300; I quickly ignored everything and decided to take this little bike for a spin, and I am pleased to tell that my experience went really, really well. As I live near the highway, my first thought was to take this bike on the highway, and so I did. The good news is that the Kawasaki Versys-X 300 does really, really well on the highway – the bike is comfortable to ride, and you can go till 80 without really worrying about anything; there was no vibration, and the bike was stable against the wind as well. You can take it in the territories of 95 as well, but you will start to notice some vibration creep in. Considering how the bike has a low weight, maneuvering with it is a real pleasure.

If you are feeling adventurous and want to break the rules of speed, then there is a windshield mounted on the bike too that will make sure that you are protected from dust and debris.

Things That I Would Change

If you want to keep this bike strictly for keeping it on the road, then I really can’t think of a lot of things that I would change. My experience was really smooth as all the needs were being met. However, when it comes to going off road, then I would get rid of the stock tires and opt for something that can take the beating. Other than that, the Kawasaki Versys-X 300 is actually a great ADV bike that would serve you well in almost everything you put this bike through. It is a champion through and through.
